Caring about the rights of the unborn and highlighting the scriptures that prove killing a baby in the womb is murder is something Watchtower supported. I get the impression that many Catholics (the religion Watchtower liked to grumble about) similarly understand that abortion is murder. Therefore, although apparent enemies, Watchtower and Catholics are united in their opposition to abortion.
