Some people are still elevating the JW history of upholding "free speech" and helping to positively change law in the 20th century.

The reality of course was that JW leadership were just doing what they always do in acting in their own interests, and it incidentally had some wider benefits.

Now they are using copyright subpoenas simply to stifle the free speech of critics and expose people so that they can be shunned. It's the exact opposite of supporting free speech.

Interesting though nothing really new here. I have come to realize that everything the WT does, is with their own interest in mind.

I believe the only way to really expose them is when none of us "critics" use aliases anymore but just write under our own name. Find the limits of the various laws and present ourselves as true victims, as weak, as poor. Find journalists who are willing to write about us, being victims (many victims), being weak (or made weak) etc. Do not attack WT as this will not help and does not fit someone who is a victim. People (judges) in principle like to help victims.

You make some good points.

Personally I don't feel any animosity towards the org. Nor do I feel like a "victim".

While they still have a gun to my head, I no longer view them as a conscious entity. They are in such an echo chamber that it is virtually impossible for the captivated individuals to have any rational thoughts about those who would disagree.

I view them more as I probably would towards an AI robot that holds a gun to my head. Yes, I curse the creators who made this thing possible, but I can't have any personal feeling toward the AI robot itself. All I can do is make the best decisions for myself to avoid it pulling the trigger.

Interesting article Apollos and I also appreciated your thoughts on it. In fact I wanted to thank Menrov and Dajo1 for their input on it as well which I believe has much merit.

Very sad and hypocritical situation here indeed. The true colors of the WT organization are becoming increasingly manifest.

While we are of course counseled to be "cautious as serpents" while at the same time "innocent as doves," here are the scriptures I would most recommend we ponder when it comes to attaining a balanced view of this kind of situation:

In my case I could not care less if the organization knows who I am. When I began posting under the name- Sol, it was really just a matter of celebrating the fact that I was beginning to learn more about the Hebrew Language. As I've pointed out before the name- Sol Mayer is a Hebrew rendering of Jeff Kelley, and the truth is I sometimes regret that I became well known as Sol rather than Jeff. I do actually post under my true name on one particular website, but It happens to be one that I very rarely deal with since it has very low traffic.
