The first thing that comes to mind is the notion of creating fake shortages to drive up the cost of goods. But I wouldn't be surprised if there is more to it than that such as people quitting their underpaying Jobs because they are sick and tired of being treated like slaves or they are being forced to wear masks all day long or to get "vaccinated," etc.
