Re: Interesting Stuff
Proselytiser of Jah, can you please give me the link to (or source of) where Penton made that comment on polygamy? I am doing research on polygamy.

Re: Interesting Stuff
It was one of Eric's videos I saw him say it in as well. One of the interviews he did. I don't know which one now though.Vintage wrote: ↑1 year ago
Could you tell me please where to find brother Penton's comments on polygamy "not being a sin"? I found him implying this in a video on Eric Wilson's channel. Can you help me find him commenting on polygamy elsewhere? ... maybe in one of his books or in an interview with someone else?
Speaking of James, he's been unwell of late, went into hospital with a medical issue. Hopefully he'll recover well in time.

Thanks for your reply. In Eric’s Penton Knorr interview it’s at Minutes 19:15-20:25. I thought that Eric’s video might not have been the first or only time he’d made those, or similar, statements. In the video, his statements weren’t completely cohesive. If he said the same thing somewhere else, he might have worded it a little differently. Yes, I’d heard that he isn’t well and I was sorry to hear that.

Thank you for the welcome, Sol. Much appreciated. I only became aware of the existence of this forum a few weeks ago.

But I hate to make a new thread for each item since each item may be somewhat of a 'one-off' type of thing. So I am going to use this catch-all thread as my 'item of interest bin.'

Here was a post from another site that quoted from the book, THE FOUR PRESIDENTS OF THE WATCH TOWER SOCIETY (JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES), Edmond C. Gruss, Editor, p. 39.
The poster concluded his post with a bit of humor:"In 1975, Knorr made a remarkable and candid statement to the Governing Body, which confirmed his growing disillusionment until his death two years later: ["]'"There are some things I know --- I know that Jehovah is God, that Christ Jesus is his Son, that he gave his life as a ransom for us, that there is a resurrection. OTHER THINGS I'M NOT SO CERTAIN ABOUT. 1914 --- I DON'T KNOW. WE HAVE TALKED ABOUT 1914 FOR A LONG TIME. WE MAY BE RIGHT AND I HOPE WE ARE."'["] Was this comment directed at his "oracle," Fred Franz, after the disappointing failure of the 1975 prophecy? And yet, not knowing if the date of 1914 was correct or not, Knorr went along with the absolutes taught by the Watch Tower Society about 1914 and everything else: that all their teachings are firmly "based on scripture," "in truth," and agreeing to the disfellowshipping of anyone who questions 1914, or any other constantly changing belief. [Mouthy and how many others?]
"Those whose beliefs were grounded in Scripture, who protected their faith with God's Word, including the words of Jesus, who resisted dogma change by Franz's whims, were condemned as "apostates," "evil servants," and a host of other derogatory adjectives. In doing so Franz and Knorr were faithfully following another practice of J.F. Rutherford."
BobcatDoes anyone remember what killed the little monkey in "Raiders of the Lost Ark"? BAD DATES! 1914 is a bad date.

Proselytiser of Jah, I’m trying to figure out whether or not my comments to you have actually “posted” and if you can see them. Also, I received a welcome from “Sol”. I replied to him, but I can’t tell whether or not that reply of mine has posted. How long do comments usually have to wait to be approved on this forum?

Hi, only just saw your comments to me, DTT doesn't always give people notifications.
Comments are usually posted instantly, no waiting time, but people may not always be aware of them.
