Music

#1 Post by apollos0fAlexandria » 9 years ago

Bobcat's postings under the YouTube query topic prompted me to start a general thread where we could share some music.

Here is something to get things going. Ofra Haza sadly died at the young age of 42. Her voice is beautiful and haunting. This piece based upon words from the Song of Solomon is very moving to me. I imagine perhaps a voice like this carrying through the streets of a city in the promised land sometime around dusk during Solomon's peaceful reign ...

Please share any music that appeals to you. No Biblical connection required. That piece just happened to resonate with me recently. Share any good music, from any genre, from any time period.

There was an episode of "House M.D."that opened with this song (it was a rodeo scene), and in context I found it very haunting. If you saw it yourself you may know what I mean. It's an interesting piece in its own right though.

It's a little darker than the preceding music.

Nice choices. Hans Zimmer's music is certainly not short on atmosphere. I love his film scores.

For soundtrack composers I also like Clint Mansell and Philip Glass for a couple just off the top of my head.
