Jesus: The Everlasting Father, Husband & Brother

#1 Post by Proselytiser of Jah » 3 months ago

Thought I'd share my recent insights from my reading and studying.

On the connection between Jesus being the "everlasting father" of Isaiah 9:5 ...

Previously, I have already mentioned that Jesus is the everlasting "Adamic father"(the last Adam).

But now I realise he is also connected through this to Abraham and Sarah.

"For this is how the holy women of the past adorned themselves. They put their hope in God and were submissive to their husbands, 6just as Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord" - 1 Peter 3:5-6

Sarah calls Abraham her husband, "her lord" and this is regarded as "having hope in God".

Likewise, Jesus is said to look after his congregation, the anointed of Christ are called "his bride" (Revelation 21:2), and husbands in scripture are told to "look after their wives as Jesus does the congregation".

Ephesians 5:22-23
Ephesians 5:21,29-30

Hence, we call Jesus Lord, also in the manner that Sarah called Abraham her lord, as Abraham was the prophet of God and beginning of the Old Covenant, so too is Jesus "our Lord and husband", who is the beginning of the New Covenant, both of which expresses "faith in God".

The entire subject of wives, husbands, headship, the congregation, the representational Lord and the children of Israel and the "fathers of the covenant", is intrinsically connected, 'literally' AND 'spiritually'.

Jesus is the everlasting Adamic father, the Last Adam who fathers children of the New Heavens and New Earth, in that we inherit Jesus' everlasting fate, and not the fate of our forefather Adam. AND he is the everlasting Abrahamic father, progenitors of covenants and promises, and fathers to children, of whom were also our brothers in relation to God the Father.
