In post 100 I begged the question
Zechariah continues: Then I raised my eyes again, and, look a flying scroll, And Jehovah's angel says: This is the denouncement that is going forth over the surface of the earth. It records the names of those that are stealing on one side, and the names of those who are falsely making sworn oaths in God's name, on the other side. And it must lodge in his house and exterminate it, (Zech 5:1-4; cf. Zech 4:9 & Mt 7:22-27).But what about the priests who retain possession of their land and who sup at Pharaoh's table, (Gen 47:22)?
Then Zechariah sees an ephah measure going forth. And the angel says: This is their aspect in all the earth, [the aspect of those whose names have been written in the scroll], And look! the circular lead lid [of the ephah], is being lifted up, and Zechariah sees a woman sitting inside the ephah measure and the angel says to him: "This is wickedness". And the angel throws her back into the epha and throws the lead weight back on its mouth. Then Zechariah sees two women coming forth, [woman, wife, female], and the wind/spirit is in their [stork-like] wings ... And they are lifting the ephah measure up and taking it between the earth and heavens. And he asks where they are taking her and is told: In order to build a house for her in the land of Shinar, [Gen 10:10], and when it is ready, she will be deposited there in her proper place, (Zech 5:6-11).
The woman in the ephah pictures the religious leadership that sups at Pharaoh's table, (see post 100, here), the religious arm of Babylon the Great with whom the kings of the earth commit fornication and whose cup is full of the disgusting things and unclean things of her fornication. So that all those that inhabit the earth are made drunk with the wine of her fornication, , (Rev 17:2,5). Once her house is finished this woman will be deposited in her proper place. But at this time the world is still drunk with the wine of her fornication, and she has yet to be clearly identified.
But even so, not all is well in her ranks.
(RNS) — The World Council of Churches is under pressure to oust the Russian Orthodox Church from its ranks, with detractors arguing the church’s leader, Patriarch Kirill, invalidated its membership by backing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and involving the church in the global political machinations of Russian President Vladimir Putin Religion News Service
The chief concerns being raised pertain to the WCC in its relationship to all its member churches. Indications of the cross-denominational character of the crisis include:
- continuing disengagement in the real agenda of the WCC on the part of many member churches -- this is testified, e.g., by the responses to the CUV process, which are widely inconsistent both qualitatively and quantitatively across the entire denominational spectrum of the churches
- the perceived need for "radical restructuring" felt recently by several regional ecumenical organizations (e.g., Council of Churches of Britain and Ireland, Canadian Council of Churches), in order better to serve and represent a wider range of churches
- the difficulties of other churches, perhaps most notably the Roman Catholic Church, with the "ecclesiological challenge" posed by the WCC
- the difficulty experienced by many churches, including perhaps especially African churches in endorsing a WCC discussion on issues of human sexuality
- new developments, both positive and negative, in the Evangelical world, as seen e.g. in the non-participation in the WCC of the Baptists in Russia
Even as it was in the time of Zedekiah, the last king of Judah, so it is today, Jehovah says: For the reason, you men have spoken untruth and are envisioning a lie, therefore I am against you ...And my hand has come against the prophets that are visioning untruth and that are divining lies. In the intimate group of my people, they will not continue, and in the register of the house of Israel they will not be written, and to the soil, [adamah as at Dan 12:3], of Israel they will not come. And you people will have to know that I am the Lord Jehovah. For the reason, yes, for the reason, they have led my people astray, saying, "There is peace!" When there is no peace. And he is building a partition wall, but in vain there are those plastering it with whitewash, [cf. Ezek 22:28], (Ezek 13:8-10).
Jehovah tells Ezekiel: "Say to those plastering it with whitewash that it will fall. There will be a flooding downpour, and on you, [feminine plural, the Zerubabbel class], hail stones will fall. And a blast of wind storms will cause a splitting/breakthrough. And look, when the wall has fallen will it not be said to you, where is the coating with which you plastered it, (Ezek 13:11,12)?"
In his rage Jehovah says: "I will break down the wall to the earth, which you men have plastered with whitewash, and its foundations must be uncovered. And she, [the broken wall], will fall. And you must come to an end in the midst of her. And you shall have come to know that I am Jehovah, [that Iam the Come-to-be]. And I shall bring my rage to a finish upon the wall and those who plastered it ... the prophets of Israel that are prophesying concerning Jerusalem ... and envisioning peace for her, [Jerusalem] , when there is no peace," (Ezek 13:8-16; cf.1Thess 5:1-3)
The builders are now busy plastering over the cracks that threaten to split the wall apart, causing it to come crashing down to the earth, (see WCC Latest News). And the names of those stealing and those making false oaths in God's name are now being recorded on both sides of the flying scroll, (cf. Mt 5: 33-36). A separation work between those knowing Jehovah and those that don't is now taking place. The spirit that is in the stork-like wings of the two women. is lifting the ephah measure up in order to bring her to her proper place in the land of Shinar, (Rev 11:1,3,4; Zech 5:11
John is told to get up and measure the temple sanctuary of God and the altar, and those worshipping in it ... And I will cause my two witnesses, [the two sheaves of wheat] to prophesy ... these are the two lampstands that are standing before the God of the whole earth, (Rev 11:1,3,4; cf. Zech 4:12-14)
Zerubbabel has laid the foundation of this house and her hands will finish it, (Zech 4:9).
And I will cause a blast of wind storms to burst forth in my rage - a flooding downpour ... and hail stones for an extermination ... And I will bring my rage to its finish upon the wall and upon those plastering it with whitewash, (Ezk 13:14, 15).
...Furthermore, everyone hearing these sayings of mine and not doing them will be likened to a foolish man, who built his house on sand. And the rain poured down, and floods came and the winds blew and struck against that house, and it caved in and its collapse was great, (Mt 7:26,25).
