My First Partaking

#1 Post by Proselytiser of Jah » 1 year ago

I'm about to go to bed, but before I do I thought I'd share my personal experience with all tonight, of my first time partaking of the bread and wine at the memorial.

It was a very special thing for me. I can only describe the experience and joyous, comforting and satisfying, all at once.

In those moments, I prayed to Yah and told him, I did what I did to follow what I felt was the right thing to do, in obeying his Son to the letter. The eating in itself was not just having something to eat, but it was as if sharing a meal with Jesus himself, as if I was sat at the table with his disciples on that night he died. It was nourishing, not physically, but spiritually, a moment where I felt I had truly appreciated and "gained" life.

Likewise with the wine, I drank from the cup with two hands, and the life that is in Jesus, the blood that was shed on my behalf, I accepted within myself.

Though my family members remain unsure and confused on what to do, over whether to partake or not, because they don't understand why "Jehovah hasn't told the Governing Body to change their doctrine", I could only point to scripture and say "God never changed anything in the first place".

Perhaps one day.

But regardless, for me, as my first time, it's a very special thing as I say, and tonight I have dined with Christ.

On a more humorous note, I also couldn't help but think of this scene in relation to my experience tonight, haha.
