Deleted 92 posts in the last 24 hours. And thanks Menrov for any help. (When I disapprove them I don't give them any reason. 'Dust is what they eat" )

I wonder if they even check to see that not one of their posts has become visible? Seems like they would go where their efforts work.

Oh well (that's a deep subject).

Hi Bobcat,

I know we had about 900 members before the attack started, that number has doubled since then.

Can you delete their memberships, Comrade?

I can and I have. I was deleting them all (their membership, that is). But it occurred to me at some point that they have an infinite number of names that they can use. So after a while I started only banning names that occurred more than once. The names appear to be computer generated and follow a naming progression.

A few of them lately have not started new threads, but instead tried to comment on already existing threads. The comments must also be computer generated. They will say something like: "Yea, that was a real good point you made. And I have this link you will probably be interested in." (Or words to that effect.) But the forum software still flags them as new posters needing to by approved.

Hi Bobcat & everyone,

This is the old AmosAu or AmosAu2.

The only way I've been able to sign into DTT with my everyday computer, is to create a third account. This is AmosAu3.

Regards, Amos.

Hi Amos,

Try going to the login page and on the bottom right there is a link that says, "delete all board cookies." This is what the board instructions recommend, I just saw this a couple of days ago whilst exploring for some remedy for the scammer posts. Then try logging in under your old names.

Hi Bobcat,

I'll give that a try now.

Hi Bobcat,

I have tried doing what you've suggested, but no success.

I can't remember my password for the AmosAu2 account. When I jump through the hoops as instructed in "sign in", nothing happens, no reply email from the site.

It'll cause less problems if I just continue with this new account & only occasionally sign in with my original account, to keep it active.

Regards, Amos.

A little update on this topic:

Apollos changed the sign-up page a few months back to make it a little more difficult for intruders to sign up. It appears to be working.

Recently we have had a few attempts at posting links to various sites (porn, illegal documents, cialis, etc.) What is interesting is that each time the poster signed up about 8 or 9 months previously (before Apollos changed things) but they waited till now to try posting. It was like they signed up and stayed quiet as if they were a 'sleeper agent' waiting for some future time to act.

At any rate, as they attempt to post I both delete their membership and stop the post. So hopefully those who have done this way will slowly be weeded out.
