Memorial Season ?

Bumping this thread because the WT's "Memorial Season" is upon us.

What a difference a day makes!

Hi Stranger,

I'm not trying to legitimize a "Memorial Season." Rather, I was hoping that visitors to this site who are JWs would give the thread a look-see. WT equates the time for their Memorial tract campaign to be contiguous or synonymous with a "Memorial Season."

The WT Memorial this year is after sunset on March 27. I think the tract campaign started last Saturday, February 28.

In a curious sort of way, the WT's Memorial Season kind-of parallels Lent.

"Upon us" was intended similarly to the editorial use of "we".

Hi Stranger,

I'm not trying to legitimize a "Memorial Season."

Nobody has to legitimize it, it has already been legitimized.

NWT: "After giving thanks he broke [the loaf] and said 'This means my body which is in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.' " (1Cor 11:24)

Anyway, is it just me or does it seem kind of quiet this season?

Rather, I was hoping that visitors to this site who are JWs would give the thread a look-see.

Maybe, the night of Nisan 17, after Jesus was resurrected on the morning of Nisan 16, was spent preaching to the spirits in prison?

1 Peter 3:19 After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits--

Where do these imprisoned spirits dwell?
If they dwell in the heart of the earth, then here you will find your 3rd night that Jesus spent "in the heart of the earth"

There was not a continual going to these imprisoned spirits, as if they could repent and be redeemed from the preaching Jesus did to them.
It was a one time announcement to them of an impending / certain cutting off.

Here is where the bible says the imprisoned spirits dwell: -

1 Peter 2:4 For if God didn't spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and committed them to pits of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

cast into hell.
From Tartaros (the deepest abyss of Hades); to incarcerate in eternal torment -- cast down to hell.

AKA , the heart of the earth.

And the bible does indicate that Jesus did in deed spend sometime there, where these imprisoned spirits dwell, making a proclamation to them.
To make a proclamation, one has to be alive.
