Re: Music

Zadok the Priest by Handel - rather nice version as you get the lyrics. Some of the artwork looks like it is promoting the worship of Mary or the Trinity. Sorry, I just like the tune - especially the bit where they sing "Zadok the Priest..."

Re: Music

I love the theme tune to this program on the early history of the USA. Apologies for the serpent - I don't understand what it means except something to do with unity.

I think this Robinson Crusoe theme is nice too

Re: What is your take on UFO’s?

I saw something unexplained in the sky once and instinctively felt it was a military experiment although it fitted with the image of what an alien space-ship would look like. We used to have corn circles and UFOs on hill tops in my part of the world. They were carried out by groups of clever prankst...

Re: Removal daily sacrifice

My short answer is I’ve done a lot of research and I don’t know. But on this subject I wrote off to the Governing Body some years back because I spotted an anomaly on dates and location in the book Pay Attention to Daniel’s Prophecy (aka the Daniel book). Just so you are clear, in the text (which is...

Re: Ex-JW Idolatry

Hisclarkness – It depends what you mean by contradict a doctrine. The doctrine about 1914 is wrong and the arithmetic in the Bible shows it to be so. Yes that doctrine needs to be changed. As far as I understand arithmetic is said by some to be the purest form of science/knowledge. It is to do with ...

Re: Ex-JW Idolatry

Hi Syd You make a good point. Interesting to give consideration to where science came from. This is how I understand it. The old word for science is ‘natural philosophy’. Sometime round the 1830s the term ‘science’ was coined. During the 1600s in Britain there had been a revolution which was reverse...

Re: January 2016 Study Watchtower, "We Want to Go With You"

Hi Humiliore Thanks for drawing attention to this. I tend not to bother reading the Watchtower too closely but your words encourage me to do so. In recent years, we have seen an increase in the number of those partaking at the Memorial of Christ’s death. That trend contrasts with the decrease in the...

Re: What is a Christian?

Oh I see - bit like when I realised that the 1914 parousia teaching was an error and my Bible trained conscience/fear of God drove me to write to the Society, yes?
